The Practical Advantage of a Le Cordon Bleu Degree Program
Course Requirements at Le Cordon Bleu include two dedicated terms in practical learning with faculty instructors and career professionals working in the field, along with our students.

Career Training in Our Popular Student-Run Restaurant
During the school´s Restaurant Practical, students can put all their culinary skills to the test in our student-staffed elegant dining restaurant, the popular 175-seat Tropibleu. Time is spent in five stations including hot line, pantry, pastry, prep and dining room and students can experience invaluable cooking and culinary arts training in front of house operations and fine dining menu and food preparation. A popular spot for the public, our student staffed restaurant presents an innovative way for students to have an advantage as they prepare for their culinary arts careers.

Career Training in the Field
In the final semester at Le Cordon Bleu, a 10-credit Externship is necessary for graduation from the degree program. Students can work under the supervision of a professional chef or manager in a related field for a minimum of 480 hours in an approved food service establishment. All 480 hours must be completed at one establishment and the Director of Education and the Externship Program Coordinator must approve the externship before work begins. This valuable field experience is designed to provide the advantages our students need to prepare for their careers in the field of culinary arts.
